  • Abstract
    In order to detect the bioimage efficiently, a new disc format for biosensing by using the optical pick-up head system has been developed. A pick-up head system with three-axis actuator and modified detecting sensor has been designed to detect biosamples on circular substrate. In order to detect the image accurately, we design special leading-in/leading-out and some prepits on a small disc substrate with new format for focusing tracking. The disc diameter of new format circular substrate is 75 mm. For efficient testing, two formats of the single row format with sample size 2 mm × 2 mm and the double row format with sample size 1 mm × 1 mm have been proposed. This is a new concept to use the optical disc drive technology with modification to detect the bioimage and fluorescent signal for biosamples.
