Phase-locked degenerate parametric amplifier

The phase-locked degenerate parametric amplifier can now be realised in a relatively simple form by making use of the phase-locking properties of Gunn oscillators. The device has applicacation as a low-noise amplifier (having a significantly lower noise figure than nondegenerate amplifiers using the same varactors), as a phase indicator for static phase measurements and as a phase discriminator for high-speed p.s.k. digital signals.
