Abstract
This work presents a summary of experimental data collected to check the validity of theoretical expressions for EM leakage through electrically small apertures. In particular, expressions for normalized polarizabilities of apertures loaded with thin conducting films or wire meshes are compared with experimental data. Experimental methods for (and the associated problems of) separately obtaining both the magnetic and electric polarizabilities are discussed. Also considered are the relative merits of wire mesh and thin conducting films as treatments for reducing aperture leakage.
