Abstract
Natural conduction in chlorobenzene and bromobenzene has been measured for field strengths of 50 V/cm to 50 kV/cm with brass electrodes. The conduction current is found to be caused by the injection of electrons into the liquid from the cathode. The thermal activation energy is 0.61 eV for chlorobenzene and 0.41 eV for bromobenzene.
