Abstract
Mode transducers are used in microwave transmission systems to transform a certain mode of one waveguide into a predetermined mode of another waveguide. Of particular importance is the transformation from the rectangular TE10 mode to the circular TE01 mode because the circular mode has a low transmission loss and is frequently used where long waveguide runs are necessary.
