Abstract :
Broadband chirped fibre Bragg filters centred at 980 nm and 1480 nm with reflectivities as high as 99% and reflection bandwidths up to 22 run are reported. The filters have a low transmission loss of <0.5 dB between 1.51 and 1.56 mu m and their application to reject and recycle unabsorbed pump light from a fibre amplifier is demonstrated.
