Abstract :
This letter presents the hybrid matrix method for stable analysis of electromagnetic wave propagation in stratified bianisotropic media. The method overcomes the numerical instability of transfer matrix and impedance matrix methods, even when the thickness tends to infinity or zero. The stability and accuracy of the hybrid matrix is ascertained and verified. By applying thin-layer asymptotic approximation in simple recursive asymptotic algorithm, it bypasses the intricacies of eigenvalue-eigenvector approach. The overall hybrid matrix for stratified media is also obtained by simple matrix recursions.
