Emerging Display Devices

The anticipated attributes of new display technologies as well as the potential availability of new display devices are subjects which always evoke a myriad of often heated debates. Some pragmatic, and hopefully somewhat objective, viewpoints are presented concerning the positive and negative aspects of the leading contenders. The results still indicate that the perfect display for all applications not only does not exist, but is also not on the horizon. Nonetheless, very exciting candidates for a large number of applications are emerging rapidly and are beginning to take their place in the display market.
