Introduction from the Third European Solid-State Circuits Conference Organizing Committee

We were very pleased to have the opportunity to hold the third meeting of the new European Solid-State Circuits Conference at Ulm, Germany. The conference was fortunate to have a large number of high-quality submitted papers, The number of contributed papers was in excess of 90, a bare half of which could be selected for presentation. So as to cope with the number of excellent papers during the envisaged 2.5 days scheduled for the program, parallel sessions were held throughout. Six invited papers of tutorial character were presented, which either dealt with questions of structural changes in the semiconductor and equipment producing industry, or were intended as a direct introduction to a particular session.
