Abstract :
(-)-20 alpha -methylbenzylamino-5-nitropyridine (MBANP) forms a monoclinic crystal with symmetry point group 2. The material is capable of being piezoelectric and has therefore been considered as a material for SAW device fabrication. To the best of the authors´ knowledge, this is the first demonstration of SAW propagation in a polar organic crystal, indicating a new class of material for signal processing applications.
