Abstract :
A novel external cavity configurations for a 0.98 mu m strained quantum-well LD set in an erbium-doped fibre amplifier allows the pump wavelength to be locked to within 0.6 nm for LD temperatures from 18.5 to 39 degrees C, and LD drive currents from 40 to 120 mA.
