Abstract :
The authors derive a modified Nyquist stability test which makes possible the use of semi-infinite optimization for the design of stabilizing compensators. The test provide a simple necessary and sufficient condition of exponential stability and is computationally well-conditioned. Computational aspects of the derived stability test are discussed and a design example is given
