Abstract
The design of Hilbert transformers and differentiators by eigenfilters is presented. The filter coefficients are computed from an eigenvector of an appropriate real, symmetric, and positive-definite matrix. The method is simple, and the performance is better than that of McClellan-Parks algorithm. The design time is fast and comparable for filter length less than one hundred.<>
