Abstract
A new charge-coupled analog-to-digital (A/D) converter is described, and expected conversion speed is evaluated for n-channel devices. A salient feature of the proposed A/D converter is that the binary conversion of the successive analog signal samples are carried out simultaneously and independently utilizing the inherent `pipeline´ structure of charge couple devices (CCDs).
