Abstract
A software package that simulates the steady state and transient performance of several induction motor drives is described. Included in the package are converter, inverter and slip energy recovery drives. The simulation incorporates a basis transformed state space formulation that results in a very clean, modular software structure together with significant numerical efficiencies. The method is particularly well suited for implementation on small microcomputer systems. A highly interactive, graphics based implementation that provides a cost effective solution for educational needs is described. Typical results for several drive systems are given to illustrate the capabilities of the package.
