Abstract
A novel constant envelope linear root-of-unity (CE-LRU) filtering process is introduced to band limit a class of chirp-like complex spreading sequences, facilitating the application of these sequences in a fully DSP implementation of a direct sequence spread spectrum system. The technique is unique in that it not only yields a minimum bandwidth signal, but also preserves the constant envelope property of these sequences, as well as their ideal correlation characteristics
