Abstract :
An acousto-optic tuned erbium-doped fibre laser is demonstrated which exhibits a tuning speed of <20 μs over a bandwidth of >20 nm, with no relaxation oscillations. Relaxation oscillations are eliminated by an all-optical technique involving a nonlinear amplified loop mirror
