Abstract
High voltage engineering is one of the electrical engineering specialties. The paper reviews university level high voltage engineering educational, research, and international exchange activities in the People´s Republic of China. The introduction discusses the rapid development of the electric power industry in China during the last few decades and justifies the need for high voltage engineering education. Lists of fundamental-, specialty-, and elective courses in a typical high voltage engineering curriculum are given. Features of the graduate program, research areas and topics, and pertinent information on laboratory equipment are also outlined.
