Abstract :
The authors describe a novel tracking loop which can be used in spread spectrum systems to extract a time base for the synchronous code needed for the despreading operation. The new loop is characterised by a periodic discriminator characteristic. Hence, the new loop can track signals subject to Doppler effects even when classical synchronisation loops fail.
