  • Abstract
We present a highly efficient computation scheme for simulation of reflection of optical pulse in the time domain at optical waveguide discontinuities. The solution scheme is implicit and, therefore, unconditionally stable. We apply the formula for simulation of a time-domain Gaussian pulse reflected from a waveguide facet structure and show good agreement with results obtained by the other more sophisticated algorithms.
