Abstract
A new ultrawideband, sleeved transmission line- fed rectangular planar disc monopole antenna with a considerably small ground plane size is presented. Experiments have been carried out to investigate the impedance and radiation behavior of the antenna and the results are compared with the numerically simulated data. The antenna offers an ultrabroadband performance in the frequency band 0.5-9.0 GHz with a VSWR of less than 2.5:1.
