Abstract :
The ULM-1 (ultralow maintenance battery) design objectives and evolution are examined. The tests carried out to validate the design are described, and test results are given. Research carried out to reduce problems in vented Ni-Cd batteries resulting from electrolyte leakage are discussed.<>
