Abstract :
Analytical equations that permit quick computation of the ampacity of power cables wrapped with refractory silica are presented. Ampacity test results are given for several wrapping methods and cable configurations. These test results show that the analytical method is reasonably accurate in determining the ampacity of wrapped cable
