Abstract :
This paper presents the results of an analysis of the free field coupling to a simplified canonical missile model. The model consists of configurations of metal, dielectric fuel and missile plume regions. Emphasis is given towards understanding complex metal and dielectric composition models. A previously unreported dielectric cavity mode and the significance of its effect on both interior and exterior model responses are discussed.[l] The model consists of metal, dielectric, air and fuel regions with interconnecting cables. Both fuel relative dielectric constant (¿r) and plume conductivity (¿p) variations were performed to establish an understanding of the effects such variations have on various predicted responses. These results can then be utilized to aid in the interpretation of the predicted results on more sophisticated and detailed missile models.
