Abstract :
Energy transfer between excited rare gas atoms and/ or molecules to rare gas atoms is exploited in order to get suitable cheap fillings for the photoionization proportional scintillation chamber (PIPS). In particular, variation of the emission with the pressure of both donor and acceptor is studied. Xenon doped argon and krypton doped argon are considered and its behaviour compared to pure argon.
