Abstract :
Digital optical switches based on electro-optic polymers have been designed and fabricated. They are suited for use as spatial switches in optical-controlled phase-array radars. The switches show step-like responses to driving voltages with 7 V switching voltage for dual-arm driving and high extinction ratio. This nonresonant switch design can be driven by push-pull configurations without bias.
