    Over the last few years, the world´s corporations have been restructured, reengineered, downsized, and rightsized. Whatever it is called, the process usually involves laying off workers. Some of the largest upheavals have involved those corporations built around the sale and application of computer technology, and one of the professions affected most is the computing profession. We continue to hear contradictory reports of excesses and shortages of skilled labor in the world´s technology market. Is it boom or bust for computer professionals?
