Abstract
This paper deals with the IEEE 519-1992 standard for understanding harmonics and applying harmonic limits in power systems. The general intent of IEEE 519 is to limit harmonic current from individual customers and to limit distortion of the system voltage provided by utilities. This article discusses some of those areas of confusion as well as related issues that are helpful in working with harmonic limits
