Abstract
In this letter, the noise effects induced by semiconductor optical amplification within a cavity with external optical feedback are studied, in terms of chaos complexity of the generated emitter´s signal, as well as the ability of an appropriate receiver to synchronize with the emitted signal in a chaos-based optical communication system.
