Abstract
Phased-array radars have advantages over conventional radars in that they can support flexible processing and waveforms, support multiple functions in a single system and achieve optimal control and usage of radar energy. The author describes the principles of operation and looks at various phased-array radars including the Cobra Dane and the EMPAR
