Abstract
A consultant these days needs a computer, if only to impress the clients. Unfortunately, selecting and using a computer can be more complicated than many of the problems that can be solved with it. The author discusses his own experience in selecting a suitable computer as well as peripherals such as printers. The need for analytical skills and future trends in working methods and the need for computers are also briefly discussed
