Abstract :
The paper presents an analysis of narrow-wall inclined-slot coupling between rectangular waveguides forming a T-junction in which the narrow dimension of the waveguide forming the T-arm is oriented parallel to the axis of the feed waveguide. Expressions for coupling and voltage standing-wave ratio (VSWR) are derived from the transmission-matrix equivalent-networkparameter. The parameters of the equivalent network are determined from the self reaction of the equivalent magnetic current in the primary and the coupled guides. Numerical results are presented for a slot having an inclination of 45¿¿. This is the only inclination for which resonance can be achieved within the X-band frequency range using standard WR-39 X-band waveguides. Comparisons between the theoretical and experimental results are presented.
