Abstract :
A source method is developed to determine the characteristics of a step discontinuity in microstrip circuits. Modelling of the circuit is proposed by a rigorous method including sources and using extended wavelet trial functions. The presence of a coupling two-port network, whose role is fundamental to the problem solution, is demonstrated. The numerical results obtained, giving the modulus of transmission and reflection coefficients for the STEP discontinuities, are compared with previously published data
