Abstract :
If periodical sampling of the input signal is not necessarily required in digital communication systems, the bandwidth and output power may be more effectively utilised by generating coded pulses in accordance with a certain change in signal amplitude. Theoretical and experimental studies of the principle as applied to the delta-modulation system are described.
