Abstract :
A method for computing continuous current rating of forced cooled cable systems is developed. It can be used for any number of heat sources, and represents the temperatures along the line as a sum of exponentials. Two different applications are considered. These are for cable systems externally cooled by water running in four pipes, and for surface cooled cables, each cable in a pipe. A complete numerical example is given for both cases
