Abstract :
An elementary formula for the determination of the characteristic impedance of coaxial transmission lines whose inner and outer conductors have circular and polygonal cross sections, respectively, is given. This formula is both conceptually and computationally simpler than others, and it also allows upper and lower bounds for the exact value to be obtained
