Abstract :
Ions of H+2 and He2+ were accelerated by 4π-mode operation in the KEK 20 MeV proton linear accelerator. In this mode the same accelerating field distribution and the same focusing magnetic field strength as those for protons were used. This paper gives the experimental results of the relation between the injection energy and the accelerating field strength and of the beam intensity as a function of the field strength.
