Abstract :
Successful experience with wiggler and undulator (w/u) magnets as synchrotron radiation (SR) sources has led to new facility design concepts. We review the design features and performance criteria of new rings and describe a proposed facility at SLAC consisting of two rings (1-2 and 5-6 GeV) in the same tunnel, both optimized for w/u insertions. We also present conceptual designs for permanent magnet dipoles and quads.
