Noise in communications antennas—Survey

A study was made to determine the possibility of contributing to signal-to-noise ratio in communication systems by virtue of changes in design in the antenna used. 1. A thorough study of existing literature was made, in order to become acquainted with the sources of noise and the methods employed in the past to improve the antenna. 2. A customer survey was made to evaluate the various kinds of noise and to establish conditions which would permit improvement by antenna design.
