Abstract :
Tuned logarithmic amplifiers have shown a response to noise and radar clutter contrary to accepted theory in that the spread of the output probability-density function increases with increasing inputs. This effect is due to conversion of phase to amplitude modulation in the filters, and a remedy is described.
