Abstract :
An exact form is developed for determining the spectra of wideband sampled waveforms. This reduces to a discrete Fourier transform at its barest level of approximation. The topic is presented as both a mathematical tool for analysis, and as a practical aid for extending the choices available in the ubiquitous bandwidth sampling rate compromise. Detailed treatment is given to methods of cancelling spectral repeats with consequent freedom to selectively suppress aliases. Specific examples are presented for illustration purposes.
