Abstract
A readout method has been developed for a one-dimensional position-sensitive X-ray detector that reduces the readout electronics significantly. The method combines features of cathode-strip and cathode-wedge detector readouts. The readout electronics of the authors´ detector, which has 36 cathode strips, has been reduced from 36 to only eight independent channels without loss of spatial resolution. A diffraction spectrum of corundum recorded with the detector system is shown.<>
