  • Abstract
Recent research into using offline and online diagnostics to study ageing of generator insulation is discussed. Preventive maintenance based on offline diagnostic methods and adequate updating of windings are reviewed. A few examples of online partial discharge measurements and sensor designs of and concepts under development by several manufacturers are presented.<>
