Abstract :
Novel online OTDR monitoring in a remotely-pumped EDF/distributed Raman hybrid inline amplifier scheme is demonstrated. The wavelength of the OTDR pulse light is optimised for monitoring the gain of remotely-pumped EDF and the line´s performance. The proposed directional bypass configuration realises online monitoring without transmission impairment.
