Abstract :
The approximate eigenvalues for TE and TM modes excited in a quasipyramidal horn waveguide are computed using an asymptotic formula relating the associated Legendre functions to the Bessel and Neumann functions. The method provides a simple and accurate technique for calculating the eigenvalues of the fundamental and higher-order modes.
