Abstract :
Neutrons in the energy range 0-14 MeV are easily obtainable from very compact pulsed accelerotors. The fluxes are sufficient to be useful for the calibration of large experiments in high energy physics. We outline a number of methods for the calibration of hadron and e-m calorimeters, and large chamber and counter arrays. We discuss the advantages and problems of such generators over standard radiochemical sources.
