Suboptimal linear control of the linear regulator using incomplete state feedback

A simple method is outlined for the design of the optimal linear partial-state feedback control for the time-invariant state regulator assuming that the initial-state mean and variance are known. The cost functional minimised is average, over all initial states, of the usual integral quadratic cost. The method is compared with that recently suggested by Dabke.
