Abstract :
An estimate of the minimum attainable value of the peak of the crosscorrelation between two binary sequences having small aperiodic autocorrelation is given. This is based on considerations of cross-spectral energy and the optimum expected distribution of the crosscorrelation values for the two baseband sequences. The bound (3/2 L)¿ for a length L appears to fit computed values for short-length sequences.
