Simple technique for the prediction of dissipation-induced loss distortion

Using the adjoint-network concept, two analyses of an active linear time-invariant network are sufficient to determine the loss distortion introduced by dissipative inductors and capacitors. The results are useful for determining the lowest permissible Q factor for practical circuits without repeated analyses.
