Abstract :
A novel scheme is presented which combines a highly efficient image coding technique with a robust frequency hopping modulation system, for the real time transmission of sidescan solar data over a medium range shallow water acoustic channel. A result is given for the transmission of a coded portion of sidescan data over a distance of 600 m.
